Devs in the Falls Guys banned and sent to players “Cheater Island”, a magical place where hackers compete against themselves for the Cheater’s Crown. A normal crown but tainted with a hollow feeling of guilt and regret.

Hackers are a plague upon the competitive gaming world. No matter how smart developers are there is always someone out there willing to spend the time and energy to outsmart them. This is true unless they do not know they are caught hacking. The devs at Mediatonic recently admitted to being very tight-lipped and secretive about their attempts to catch hackers in the act. That’s why Falls Guys sent to players “Cheater Island”.

To do this, they went through a rigorous series of tests to narrow down who was hacking and they put them into a special queue for “Cheater Island”. It’s there that cheaters could compete against other cheaters. This was a great idea until videos were released that started to make the game seem more broken and full of bugs. The tweet below shows just a few of these videos:

As amazing as it is to see hackers get their just deserts for taking away all of our sweet victories, the breeding grounds for bigger and better hacks became too much. The team is now in talks with Epic Games to use their anti-cheat measures. If only what happened on Cheater Island could have stayed on Cheater Island.
