Freedom Fighters the Third-Person shooter game released on PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and PC by IO Interactive is coming to the Epic Games Store and Steam later this week.

If you’ve never had a chance to play the Freedom Fighters game, this week will be your chance. Though the game was released in 2003 and looks a little dated it’s important to note that the game was genre-defining and implemented many of the gameplay elements seen in many third-person shooter games seen today.

The game takes place in an alternate future where a foreign superpower invades New York City. It’s up to you to build and command a resistance and push them out. I highly recommend it if you want to take a step back and play some older games this week. As memory serves me the main campaign for the game is fairly short but really good.
